Take A Glimpse

In my last article, we had a discussion about the digital agency. The digital agency is a business organization that delivers marketing services, creative, and technical development to its clients. One of the products that a digital agency provided is a website. Mostly, a website they developed is related to the business objective, e-commerce, and internet marketing. But it doesn’t mean they don’t get any individual clients that want to make a personal website that contains their personal life or something they want to brag about.
Before we discuss what web agency is, how they work, and what kind of website they manage and develop, we can take a glimpse of what exactly website is. Definition and understanding the fundamentals is important to make a great discussion.
A website is a collection of related web pages, including multimedia content, typically identified with a common domain name, and published on at least one web server. (Wikipedia)
Websites are media that deliver any kind of information. There are a lot of categories, such as:

  • Business
  • E-Commerce
  • News
  • Video
  • Music
  • Images
  • Social Media
  • Government
  • Education
  • Organization
  • Crowdfunding
  • Politics
  • And many more

In fact, we are all surrounded by websites. You are inside a flood of pieces of information in every single day you spent on the internet. Don’t you believe it? Even you now are reading the article about web agency on a website. So basically, you are a website user as well. But can you make your own website? Maybe you want to start sharing the good news with your country? Or you want to start your free education program for social orientation? The answer is yes. Even you are not a tech-savvy, you still can make your first website. That’s the motives of the web agency.

Introducing Web Agency

Basically, web agency is exactly like digital agency. I already explain some stuff about digital agency in my last article. I explain the general workflow of the digital agency as well. There are three main steps that need to be done. First thing first, they spend their time to brainstorm ideas and concepts. Both the agency and client start sharing their ideas. Secondly, they design and develop the website. Front-end, back-end, UI, UX, and all variables that need to be considered. Then you need to promote your website. Even though you have a personal website, you still need to make your audience aware of your website. After all of that, the web agency enhances the website and get any feedback to make a better user experience.
If digital agency brought you a few products, web agency also works on a digital platform and only develops one product. They focus to manage any kind of website that the clients wanted. Like digital agency, sometimes they only make a website and you have to seek another company that will promote your website to specific people. But there are plenty web agencies which offer you marketing strategy and implementation as well. So you don’t have to turn your head to another company.

The website is a very prospective media. Because almost all individuals that have an internet connection and access to digital world browse more than one website. Almost all companies that need to make a brand or product awareness use web agency to make one, two, or more websites. These media are one of the best ways to attract the prospective customers.
On the other hand, if you don’t want to make a website and you want to start your own web agency, maybe you can look at the web agency that already started their business. In this Internet of Things era, I think web agency is also a prospective business. I will not tell you how since it will be out of topic, but if you have a dream to do so, then good luck!
Back to the digital agency, in perspective of a user, the website always have an identity. Like ourselves. We see ourselves as a human being, as a businessman, a banker, a teacher, and others. Honestly, identity gives us a place, not just in the World Wide Web, but also inside of the user mind and heart. Web agency also has a mission to make a website loveable.

Website Identity

In my standpoint, website identity starts with the website and domain name. Let’s take a look at Google. Google is also a website that provides you a well-developed search engine. The brand itself is already written their name in the Oxford Dictionary. You see that? If you want to search and know about something or anything, you can ask Google. The Google brand has been engraved in your mind. Google is successful making the best identity, promote it, and even nail it to any human being that an internet connection.
The power of Google identity also makes the other competitors start to take a back step. The market leader already three or five steps ahead. So they need to reconsider their identity as a search engine website. Yahoo, Bing from Microsoft, and DuckDuckGo are other search engine websites which need an identity development. So that they can at least compete with Google and get their own market shares.
Actually, in terms of marketing, identity is the core value to win the competition. Market awareness and knowledge of your products are based on that identity. Perhaps you are asking how to make an identity that good? Actually, it’s quite simple. You just need to look closely at your competitor’s identity, regulations, and what your competitive advantage is. Still, it is hard to maintain since everything could change in a single blink. That’s why you need to be aware of the relevance of your website identity.

Finally, as a client, we should consider our website identity to keep the pace in every competition. And to do so, we can’t make an awesome identity if you do it by yourself. The web agency is always on the front line to make the best effort to satisfy the clients.
